Moving Day Parking and Access Checklist
Truck parking and building access are two of the most common causes of moving-day delays. Use this checklist to sort out access details before the crew arrives.
Truck Parking
- Reserve a parking spot close to the entrance if possible
- Check whether a permit is required for a large truck
- Confirm loading dock availability for condo or office buildings
- Plan for narrow streets or cul-de-sacs in newer communities
Building Access
- Reserve the freight elevator and confirm the time window
- Provide gate codes or visitor access for the crew
- Identify stairs, long carries, or narrow doorways in advance
- Share all access details with your mover before moving day
